WALLACE AND SONS ENTERS DISTRIBUTOR AGREEMENT WITH
AWESOME PRODUCTS CORP.,
ALSO ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF THE 1ST MATE CLEANING PAD
(St. Augustine, FL) - Wallace and Sons has entered
into a distributor agreement with Ponte Vedra Beach-based Awesome
Products Corp. to distribute a cleaning sponge developed by Awesome
Products.
Wallace and Sons will market and distribute the
1st Mate sponge to users of its Tuf Enuf® line of cleaning
products.
"We are so excited to become Awesome Products'
first distributor," said Main. "After we ran the first
tests on the company's product, we knew it was going to have a great
deal of synergy with our Tuf Enuf® line.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. However,
Wallace and Sons President Toni Main said the agreement has the
potential to bring in $50,000 in the upcoming year.
"We are pleased to welcome Wallace and Sons
into the Awesome Products family," said Don Meyns, CEO and
Founder of Awesome Products Corp. "We feel confident that Wallace
and Sons will be able to develop a cadre of 1st Mate users given
the company's stellar reputation in the marine industry."
Meyns, a self-described tinkerer and inventor,
began developing the cleaning pad in his garage in 1995. A year
later when his product development and testing had been completed,
he formed Awesome Products Corp. He has a patent pending on the
sponge.
"When I became determined to develop the sponge, I found it
was a matter of working with a number of materials until I found
one that wasn't abrasive to paint, fiberglass, plexiglass, eisen-glass,
etc., but would get the job done with the proper amount of toughness
needed," Meyns said.
Meyns used his love of cars - and his desire to
keep them clean and shiny - as the driving force to develop the
cleaning pad.
"In addition to cleaning the exterior of cars,
it works wonders on fabric car seats," Meyns said. "It'll
even take a spot out of carpet using mere soap and water."
Before Wallace and Sons signed on as a distributor,
it conducted some independent field-testing of its own. One company
it turned to was St. Augustine Boatworks, a boat cleaning and detailing
company founded by Margo Geer in 1997.
"I'd recommend this cleaning pad to anyone,"
said Geer. "It has the right level of strength to get any tough
cleaning job done without causing any damage to a boat's surface."
Geer and Main conducted comparison tests on similar
nationally distributed cleaning pads. Both found the 1st Mate to
outlast and clean better than the giant company's pads.
Based in St. Augustine, FL, Wallace and Sons
is committed to environmentally-friendly products, such as Tuf Enuf®
All-Purpose Cleaner & Degreaser and Orange-scented Tuf Enuf®
Natural Bilge Cleaner. Wallace and Sons is also the exclusive Florida
distributor for Collinite marine wax products.
