WALLACE AND SONS RELAUNCHES TUF ENUF® NATURAL
BILGE CLEANER
(ST. AUGUSTINE, FL) The bottlers of
a natural bilge cleaner are banking on a new, redesigned logo to
lure in more national distributors of the product.
Wallace and Sons, which has been bottling
Tuf Enuf® Natural Bilge Cleaner since 1993, just completed the
first ever redesign of this member of the Tuf Enuf® family.
It relaunched the labeling for its Tuf-Enuf® All Purpose Cleaner
and Degreaser, which is blue, last December.
"The redesign is the result of a lot
of feedback weve received over the past years from our distributors,"
said Toni Main, president of Wallace and Sons. "We believe
the new label achieves our goal, which was to make the product jump
off the shelf to the buyer."
The new label also shows Wallace and Sons
committment to the orange-scented cleaner despite being faced with
a price increase in the ingredient that gives Tuf Enuf® its
alluring orange scent. Tuf Enuf® gets its orange scent fromd'limonene,
which is derived from crushed orange peels.
"We love
our orange product as much as our customers
do," Main said. "Were actually flattered to be able
to say we had an orange-scented product years before a lot of the
household cleaners that seem to be popping up everywhere these days."
Wallace and Sons has not passed along to its customers the price
increase it received for the growing demand of d'limonene. Tuf Enuf®
customers remain as committed to selling the orange cleaner.
Jim Ehll, owner of Tesoro Del Mar,
a boat repair and parts supplier in Sarasota, FL, has been using
Tuf Enuf® Natural Bilge Cleaner about five years.
"I just pour it right out of the gallon
jug and let it sit there in the bilge," Ehll said. "It
really freshens up the smells from diesel fuel and anti-freeze,
as well as removes those residues. It actually goes in places we
cant see and travels where any liquid has gotten into the
bilge may be."
After just one application of Tuf Enuf®
Natural Bilge Cleaner, Ehll ends up converting boat owners to Tuf
Enuf® faithful because "they end up buying a bottle for
themselves," he said. "We also use it for smudgy hand
prints. If we ever get a smudge on a boats hull or leather
seats, we just put a little on a rag and off it goes. We also use
it as a hand cleaner."
Environmentally-safe Tuf Enuf® is made
from natural ingredients and naturally degrades hydrocarbons and
their derivatives. One quart will clean a 30-foot bilge, which usually
encompass the smelly engine rooms of larger boats.
